SNUBBER

Trigon Snubber 100 –  is a problem solver and sound improver connected to the speaker's terminals (not the amplifier's terminals!).

It is used to dampen the oscillation (uncontrolled oscillations) and disproportionate warming of power amplifiers. This oscillation of a power amplifier often occurs when high inductive speaker cables are used. Especially in conjunction with power amplifiers that have a high bandwidth (usually over 250KHz) undesired oscillation can occur, unnecessarily loading the amplifier. The amplifier may heat up very quickly, so that the temperature fuse switches off the device even though you haven't heard anything. In the worst case, uncontrolled oscillation can even lead to the destruction of the amplifiers.

If high inductance or high capacitance speaker cables are not possible or desirable, the Snubber 100 will be the solution in many cases. Depending on the configuration and technical characteristics of the chain: power amplifier > speaker cable > loudspeaker, the sound effect of the Snubber 100 varies greatly. In critical, i. e. vibration-prone configurations, significant sound improvements are usually achieved, since the power amplifier has a largely identical load resistance over its operating range and can therefore work more stable (swing-free).
